The third egg hatched last night! So now there are 2 eggs left! Got another surprise when I looked in Hawk and Rosies Cage today..they have 5 eggs! PLUS I paired of Phinny and Mione since Phinny was part of my original 3 budgies I decided I wanted a bay from him too...checked the box a few minutes ago and she has 1 egg so far! Im going to have babies coming out my ears!

*I have potential homes lined up for all babies if I decide to not keep them, I will not breed my birds until I know they have homes if they dont stay here*

Pixie wouldnt move so I could get good pics of the new baby..but you can see his tiny little rump in a couple of the pics!

They are very cute,
where are you located, what climate are you in that the birds are breeding ? This is not the right time of year for them to breed, that's why I ask.

Very cute. Unusual breeding time. Are the climate conditions in your home the same all year? That could be why they breed in the winter, maybe they are confused. Anyway, really glad you have homes for them.

I agree!  That is strange about the time of year.  Though my female lovie was in hard core "nesting" mode two weeks ago!  We give them no nesting places and I sure as heck want no babies.  She was so bad she started plucking because she ran out of shredding toys and the papers under the cage were gone.  I added more paper, cotton balls, and put a hollowed coconut in with her to slow down the plucking.  I think it worked, but now she isn't even in nesting mode :-\  That is good, must have been the change in the cage.  I will remove the Coconut in a few days.

Those babies are so cute!  It is amazing how small they are when they hatch--look at those teenie little wings!  :)

Did the fifth egg ever hatch?

And since we don't have Starburst to watch grow...we need a new little faby here! to watch grow from a naked chicken to a beautiful feathered fid.
