So, long long ago...when I first brought Pipz home. (2 yrs ago) I remember the store owner (whom I adore) telling me that she could sex a tiel by looking at the shape of the eye ball.  She said, male tiels have round shaped  eyes and females have more almond shaped eyes.
I remembered the conversation this morning as I was looking at Dino's Little Wing closeup. Almond.
PG?
Catania- Almond
Pippo-round
I was thinking, maybe we teil parronts can post pics of our tiel-ies. Let's see if there is any truth to this.

My grandmother's bird, Texas was DNA sexed as a female. They originally thought she was a he, hence the name Texas Pete. (She got her in Texas) We kept her for several years for my grandmother.

Here is a picture.

Interesting!  Here's a few pictures of Lady.  I know she is a she because she lays eggs.  :)  Her eyes look almond, not round.

Yep, you're right! You can usually tell most birds by the shape of their eyes. Cockatiels and macaws show it the most, in my opinion.

Whoohoo! I'm sure it's not 100% .. ML2, how do you know this to be true? Personal experience or some written info you read somewhere?

Sorry, I shouldn't have said that so matter-of-factly... There's no proof that eye shape can 100% determine the gender of a bird. It's just a theory that a lot of people use. The best way to know for sure is always the DNA test.

Morghan just confuses me anyway. In some pics her eyes look almond and others round. Being a mutation she's harder to sex through physical appearance. She has some bars on her tail, but not as many as a grey might have for a female and she has kept her pearls through her molt. From what I gather that all says she is female, but boy is she loud and voiceterous like a male!

This was the day I brought her home, so that's why she looks so rough from her previous living quarters
Here they look almond

Here round

Here are her tail feathers with what looks to be bars anyway, though they are few.

So I just stick with calling Morghan a her until I get a DNA done this summer.

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Morghan, sophiemae (other than in your siggie of course)! She's beautiful!

Sophz, She is so beautiful. how old is Morghan? Assuming she's already gone through her "big girl" molt?
Unlike your girl, Catania is very quiet.  Unless she's hungry...you know she is part pterodactyl, after all.
