to be able to except donations you will need to be a 501 c , other wise you will be having to file taxes as a profit if any one donates, and people today wont donate unless you are a non profit, this is due to the many "fake" rescues out there. to many people have been screwed by the fake rescues taking their money .

Here are some benefits of becoming a 501(c)3 nonprofit. I don't think all of them would apply to you, but just for the knowledge:

Advance assurance to donors of deductibility of contributions

Eligible to receive federal, state and local grants

Exemption from federal taxes and tax deductions for contributors

Exemption from state income taxes, sales taxes and property taxes

Nonprofit mailing privileges and cheaper classified rates

Free radio, television and print "public service announcements"

Wow Lorek this is huge but I'm all in ! Like Chance said it will change your life and maybe not all of it will be good but good luck with your decision.
For my web site I used go daddy.com it did not cost very much and was pretty easy to get signed up & started but the actual construction on my site I have an IT guy that worked with my husband build it for me.

Lorek you are awesome to even consider this. This could be a life changing decision. I admire you very much.  AddEmoticons04239

“My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”

Just pondering on a thought...not sure what Chance or other rescues do as far as a vet, meaning if they have an agreement or something with them, like if they would come out and do exams etc. at the rescue for you, "group rates" so to say and so on.  I would talk to your vet and tell them your plans maybe they would work with you in regards to vet care, exams, emergencies and so on.  Just a thought.

I love the logo you made it looks great, I also remember you posting a picture of all your birds lined up on the carriers that picture is so awesome you should definitely do some thing with that photo.

That is a good idea from Mar if you get in tight with a vet maybe they would do it freebies it would also be nice to find a avian vet tech that might volunteer time to do well bird check ups.
