Thank you! We celebrated yesterday, my hubby spent the entire day with me.
We went to a fundraiser to help raise money to help pay for vet bills. I belong to a group who help people pay vet bills for folks that can't in an emergency, for sick dogs and cats turned over to a couple of friends. We are currently helping to raise funds for an English Bulldog that has been hit by a car with two broken legs and a broken pelvis. The Humane society was going to put the dog down, but saw this dogs will to live and found an orthopedic surgeon who once he saw the dog walking (with these injuries), agreed to do the surgery he needs to be pain free. He won't be perfect as someone abused this poor dog and repeatedly broke his legs. His legs have healed naturally so the vet won't operated on them, he will fix his broken hip and repair his pelvis. He will be pain free.
We have a foster dog who needs surgery on her legs and have put in papers to adopt, they are paying for her surgery. They took in 5 Parvo puppies this past winter, 1 died, 4 survived, all have new homes. They helped with a cat with thyroid disease, 2 dogs hit by cars, a cat hit by a car, several kittens found at peoples doors.
Then hubby took me to dinner with friends at Turning Stone Casino and we played the machines for a while. Since we broke even I call it a GREAT evening!
