I have bought Codie a new cage. I sold his original one when I bought the double stack cage! I made a big mistake in doing this  2sadk He has been in 2 different cages since the double stack and although he was fine in them, he changed! He stopped playing and stopped coming out!

I have now bought him a new cage which is identical to his original one except it is the bigger version of it! I just can't tell you how happy he is about this  I set it up for him yesterday and the first thing I put in was his swing. He was in and on that swing before I had even bolted it up  hardlaf hardlaf The difference in him is amazing. He is now playing with all his toys again and he is now coming back out and playing as normal! This has really pleased me as I was getting a bit worried about the change in him! I now have my old Codie back totally  thumb

Here is his new cage....

This is him on his swing before I had set it all up....

This one was taken a few minutes ago, he has just finished his dinner and is chilling

:okay:   Glad you bought him another cage that is like his original one! Believe it or not I have heard of birds who just can not function when taken out of a cage they have known and place in a different cage. I've known some that just about died, literally, so I am happy you figured out how to make Codie happy again.

It is quite amazing how  getting him the same cage again, he has gone back to the Codie I have always known  smile3 He comes out all the time again and is playing with all his toys. I am so glad, I made the right choice here  thumb

It funny how their minds work, but I almost understand the cage thing, especially with a rehomed bird or a bird who has only known one cage all it's life. Other than that I don't understand birds at all.   bugeye

Pearl , my Goffin came with a smaller Kings cage. Hes such an active bird I wanted to move him to a bigger cage . But he would not have it. He came being one of the most neurotic birds ive come across . We worked through a lot of his issues . If he wants to keep his cage so be it.

Love Codies new cage Wendy, he looks so happy and relaxed bless him  :ys:

I've heard about birds dying through the stress of having a new cage too, for some it must be too much to bear, but you won't have that worry with Codie x
