Hey all! Been awhile... Just popping in to say hi and that a new fid will be joining our family sometime early next month! I found a breeder on Craigslist that has some young hand raised baby budgies that are very friendly. They will be ready to go to new homes in mid February! Waiting to hear back from her on what she has left (most are reserved already!) so I can reserve mine based on personality! :) I'm so excited, and hoping the birdy company will calm Gizmo down a bit too. (He's been nuts with screeching lately and nothing we do is calming him down. He used to do much better when I lived with my folks and he had other birds around.)

I will post pics once I know! I think the one I'm getting right now, as long as he's still available, is a little black and white fella. Very cute!!

"hello2" and welcome back  smile3

Congrats on your soon to be new addition and we look forward to seeing pics  thumb I have never seen a black and white budgie. I know this is a colour we don't have here in the UK.

Awww, that is the sweetest  widdle fabie face!!  loveuk Love those pinny feathers sticking out.

I've seen a few black & white  budgies on occasion. Not a color you encounter  too often.  happyjack

I am so freaking excited!!!

This was her description of him. He sounds perfect!!    I got her address, and she's only about an hours drive from here.  I cannot wait to get him home! His new cage should be here in a few days, and my mom is looking to see if they still have the stand for my old budgies cage. I'll be picking up toys and food closer to the time he gets to come home!!

"I think I have just the baby for you! Based on personality (very much a cuddlebug, loves to nestle up to our necks with hair as a blanket, friendly with siblings and people alike, not jumpy, very curious but more interested in cuddling) and appearance (especially bright pink/violet cere compared to most siblings) I believe that my little charcoal/black-tip baby is a male and would be a wonderful match for you! I will try to catch a good photo of him during our next cuddle session so you can decide if he is your man! If you do end up adopting him, please forward me photos one day once he is grown- I think he is going to be so handsome with his father's bright blue cere, a charcoal tummy, and ink black tail feathers like his Mom! Photos coming soon! Before I forget, could I get a good contact number for you? Thanks and Take care!"

So, I'm not sure if this is the same fid as the one I posted a bit ago, but she just sent me some pics from today's cuddle session! Here's my lil fella!! (or girl, but she thinks he's a boy!)

Super adorable!!! He's getting a little blue  tinge in places. That is setting those black bars off just right.  loveuk

I can imagine you can't hardly wait for this sweet cutie to get weaned and come Home  :bounce:

I had one once that had a patch of black bars on the back of her head and on one wing. She also had a patch of deep sapphire blue on her chest & the rest of her was white. I named her Shadow cause  she reminded me of shadowy clouds and whisps of sky peeking through.  :hehe2:
