Porscha my new girl whose very plucked. Has started growing a strip of yellow feathers on her backside. Greenwings do not have yellow on them . So with all the red in her face I think she might be a Ruby Macaw . I don't why Its so important for me to know what I have .  Disappointed the lady I got her from [who said she used o be a breeder] didnt know  headhammer She is a lot smaller than my other GW . She has this fun personality like Harlow and Zona , but I thought It was wishful thinking.

The yellow feathers may just be due to her plucking. African Greys that pluck often grow in red feathers where they plucked.

I thought so too. Like a random yellow feather but its a whole row of them on her back and some under her wing.

Has she been to a vet lately? Some blood work might be in order. Too many vitamins & minerals, not enough vitamins and minerals, and some diseases can cause color changes in feathers.

Good point , she had a full work up in September [cause of her plucking]. they ruled out a medical reason . You would think if she was vitamin deficient  it would be made known then.
