I would be very careful self prescribing. Different species have different tolerances, dosages vary by weight, and you could potentially just make the problem much worse by using the wrong medication. Just my two cents worth

I realize whats best is the vet.The only vet that is close for problems 24\7 is 2 hours away. If you have a scale you can get the dosage for species . This spot is not hard core stuff . I think its mostly put in their water. Ive had enough of sick birds to have used a lot of their meds before. I hear of people with no access to avian vets.Plus they have a number to call for questions.

I just want to make sure others who may not have your experience realize the challenges. Also, check your local and state laws regarding the sale of prescription strength veterinary medications. In some areas, it is illegal.
