Hi everyone I'm not a new member but fairly new. Those of you who remember the problems I had with my macaw Cameron? Well it got worse andi had a family member rous to see him who's very experienced with birds. He had Cameron step up within 5 minutes of meeting him something I had t managed in over a month. He's now gone to lie with him
And I think now it's clear Cameron only gets along with makes and was hand reared by a male and trained by a male and this was the problem he's now very happy and has a great life which I've made sure of. I have a new boy his name is Einstein he's an African grey as I think I also big of more than I could chew with a large macaw. And I'm pleased to say Einstein is t showing the usual one person bird tendency, he loves me , the hubby and the children and doesn't bite and is very gentle and kind an such a pleasure to have around, he's out his cage with me all day and we've been learning tricks and building puzzles etc and ok so happy so a great ending for all :-) x

Thank you ☺️ was a bit worried about posting incase people thought I gave up on him to quickly but I really tried my hardest to do everything right and he wasn't having any of it and I was nervous even letting him out in the end so wasn't fair on him, he's now very happy in a large bird room with x2 other macaws and quite happily handled with a male owner so I'm pleased. Einstein is 2 :-) he's a lovely kind soul x

Einstein is gorgeous! Your kids look very happy with him.

I know all too well about our birds having gender preferences. My ekkie is a definite woman hater but loves my hubby. I just interact with Lucy from a distance and let Jerry do the hands on thing. Luckily it works for us.

That's awesome you found Cameron someone he was happy to go to. It doesn't always work out & only you can know what is best for your birds and home.  hugu

Einstein is adorable!! Are those your kids? They are cute and it is very obvious Einstein loves them. He is so comfortable looking with them. thumb

Please keep us updated on Einstein's progress and photos of both your sweet birds.
