Well, it appears that I will be joining the "New Fabie Club"!
Some of you know that I've been looking to add another conure to my flock for quite a long time. There have been two times where I almost did get another conure. But the one time, the person found someone who would take her cockatiels and conure together, and then the other person decided they didn't want to re-home the bird anymore. So, I've been on the lookout for another one that needs a home.
Recently, a member of another forum decided to re-home her two conure due to not being able to spoil them as much as she would like. This member just so happened to live about 2 hours away from me. Now, of course I wanted to adopt them as soon as I saw them, however, I didn't think my parents would like the idea of two new birds instead of one. So I talked to my parents, and after a lot of thought and deal making, they gave me the green light to contact the person.
I asked her some questions, and she answered them. I then emailed her back telling her that I was very interested in adopting the two birds, and told her all about me and my flock. She was very happy that I wanted to adopt the two of them, and now we are working out the pick up details. I don't believe that we will be picking them up until after our vacation in October.
Let me introduce the birds to you! Honey is a Cinnamon Green Cheek Conure, and Precious is a Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure. They are both 4 year old females. They are bonded, but they also love human attention. I'm not going to totally change their names, but I am going to add to them. Honey will be Captain Honey Harkness, and Precious will be Madame' Presley "Precious" La Pompadour.
I am very curious to see how Peatree will like them....also the budgies! They love bigger birds, but they don't like them! Maybe these two will be nice to them....that would be awesome, but I won't count on it!
I'm so excited!
