Now, I am going to get you all guessing here  As you all know it has been my plan to eventually get a Macaw, although I have never said which species I am planning to get  I am sooo excited to tell you, that my search for this particular Macaw has now turned into reality for me  I never in my wildest dreams thought I would EVER find one here in the UK! In fact, I gave up my search long ago as I was told that they are so rare over here I was on a losing battle  Well, it seems I was in the right place at the right time as just a few days ago I had a breeder email me to say she has one baby who is only 10 days old at the moment and if I would like him/her she would give me first option! As you can imagine, I just could not contain my excitement over it! I have spoken in great lengths with her over the last few days and am happy to tell you that my new addition will be coming home sometime in December when he/she is fully weaned 

Now, I want this to be a surprise to you all, so. I am so sorry, but, I am not going to reveal what species of macaw it is  All will be revealed In December when I bring him/her home  My new baby will be microchipped and DNA tested and will be vet checked with a certificate before he/she comes home! I have chosen a name which will be "Opie Lynn" for a Girl, or just "Opie" if it is a boy 

The breeder is sending me pics every single week and I already have pics of him/her at just 8 days old! I have put a deposit on him and due to the fact he/she will not be ready until December, this gives me plenty of time to save and get everything ready 

I have no idea how Codie is going to take to having a new brother or sister in the house. I am hoping, in time he will be fine!

I have found a double stack cage which is absolutely perfect for both, Codie and my new baby  It is absolutely huge and is far bigger than the cage Codie has at the moment. It is 48inches wide X 32inches deep and each cage is 36 inches in height  Here is a pic of the cage!



I will keep you all updated on his/her progress! I can't tell you all how excited I am over this

I am so very excited with you/for you, and can't stand not knowing what type of mac Opie is.     Just kidding - December isn't far away at all, and I can't wait for the HUGE reveal!!    LOVE the name you've picked for your 'little' one, too.
