We washed Caboose's old cage this morning and decked it out for Frankie. We still have to wash some of his old toys and rope perch, but his cage is almost there. To get him in it, I had to chase him all over the top of Little Amber's cage. Now he's been in it about 15 minutes and he hasn't moved from the one spot he landed on. Poor guy is so confused as to why his cage is outside and he is in this other cage (which is MUCH bigger). I suppose he will get used to it. It has a bunch of familiar toys in it. In fact, the spot he is sitting on is beside his most favorite toy of all time. To top things off, I gave him a bath. Poor guy. I almost feel sorry for him, but once he gets used to this big cage he will love it.

Awwwwwww, poor guy. Has he started moving about yet? He'll love it once he knows it's his. I have a nice big cage I tried to put Max, our half moon conure, in, but he freaked out & started wheezing he was so scared. I had to put him back in his tiny cage. That wee cage was all he'd known for his whole life, so it's his home. Plus he's so old I didn't want to put the stress on him. His cage isn't too small for him, but I go with "the bigger the better" motto

That toy with the duck on it is actually his favorite toy. Probably why he has picked that particular perch to perch on. He has moved about 2 inches from the side of the cage to play with his favorite toy. It looks as if he is trying to relax some. I think he is just relieved to have that toy back. I will go try to touch it and he goes all quaker crazy on me. He hates for anyone to touch it. It is so cute! Oh, he just laughed! Good sign.

Good! Just make sure he eats and drinks before bed-time...............although he may be a night snacker. I'm sure he'll be fine, if he wasn't he would've let you know before hand. He sure is a cutie!

He climbed out to the top of his cage while we were eating! Then he went back in and ate himself. Woohoo! He is back on top now. I've got to come up with a cage top play area since his cage is flat on top. His other one was dome shaped. He is also beginning to talk. He is calling Pookie, whoever that is.

Super awesome cage you have there Frankie!! I love it and it looks very similar to the one I bought for Peta the day we brought her home. I gave it to Serita once she came home.
I bet he falls in love with his new castle in a matter of days. Climbing back in tells me he is already accepting it as home.
Is the name Pookie a new word coming for Frankie? If so this cage may be bringing back memories of his old life, hopefully good memories.

Pookkie is something he came up with a couple of years ago. I'm guessing he heard it on the tv while we were gone and liked it. He occasionally calls out "Pookie, come here Pookie". We have no idea who he expects to come running.
