We tried everything  2sadk    We took her to Cornell this morning . She was losing her motor skills  and had labored breathing . They said her disease spread to her brain. After I took her off the Doxycycline she went downhill fast. She was my girl   Such an easy great bird.I think it was her that really got me hooked on birds , Nothing like the love of a Macaw   Thanks for your kind words on the other thread. We decided to take her home and bury her. Im taking the necessary measures for my other birds.

Oh, Terri! I am so sorry this has happened! Mere words cannot justify how I am feeling for you. Take comfort in that she knew she was loved and that you were doing all you could for her. We are here for you if you just need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to.  hugu

Thanks guys ,my heart is heavy and I cant cry anymore. I think whatever this was [she had from a baby]. I guess birds that are exposed to it can harbor in their body [some get sick some don't].

Nothing I can say will make you feel better, just know you are loved by us and we are here for you.

You won't get through this today or tomorrow, so for now just copy & paste this and when your heart isn't quite so tender print it out & put it in a frame with a photo of Harlow for all to see.

Until we meet again..

You say that all you have left are memories but this is not so.
You see, when I took leave of my earthly body I left a little something behind for you.
You can't touch it, hold it or examine it, for what I left behind is far too uninhibited for confinement.
I left in your tender care a piece of my soul.
I placed it right next to your own which is quite fitting as we were always side by side in our earthly life together.
I love you too much to have left you with nothing but memories that tend to fade and grow cloudy as the years go by.
I love you too much to have vanished without a trace. How selfish it would be of me to remove love and light from your life.
I understand your tears, each one you shed is testament to your love for me and I am honored and humbled.
But don't forget the good things we shared - remember and smile. This is an honor for me as well.
When you need me I will be here.
Close your eyes, relax, take slow, deep breaths and picture me in your mind.
Shut off the world and your notions of what you think death is and give me a chance.
Look for the subtle signs I send you.
Don't stop being proud of me, I am a friend to be proud of, I am still your friend and soul mate.
Don't memorialize the death of my body but instead honor and celebrate my never-ending life for it is eternal
and forever as is my love for you.

Until we meet again...

I am so very, very sorry Terri.  You are having such a rough year, I can't even imagine.  I know how much you love Harlow and so did she.  She was so lucky that she lived in a home with so much love.  Sending you lots of hugs and love.

It's a hard one to get through, especially when you just loose a loved one.
