Wanted to share this book I am reading about a lady, the author and the one legged wild caught Blue & Gold Macaw she adopted from a friend who ran a rescue and knew they were meant for each other. It is really interesting reading their daily lives learning to adjust and coexist together. The book's title is: "The Parrot Who Thought She Was A Dog" written by, Nancy Ellis-Bell. And I encourage everyone to check it out as it will keep you entertained as well as warm your heart as you see this beautiful creature unfold within the pages of this book.

I;m not much on reading anymore, just can't find the time to sit that still and concentrate. And I will admit that my reading time is limited to my 'ahh-humm', bathroom visits.  dmblaf Note in the photo attached that I am proudly using a piece of toilet paper for my book marker.  laugh Figured that was a very fitting way to keep up with what page I'm on and you never know when you may need a spare piece. You might say that's my stash for hard times.  2funny2

I haven't gotten far in my readings yet, only on page 34. I am determined to finish this book~~eventually.  :lol1:

I'll have to see if I can find it. I love reading and this sounds interesting!

BTW, I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who uses toilet paper as a bookmark!  lol

:lol1:TP is so handy and usually plentiful, right?!!  laffhrd

I haven't looked online for this book title yet, Maddy. I found it by accident a couple of months ago while killing time in Hastings Book Store in Abilene. I read a few pages & told myself that was a book I would read to the end, tho I'm nowhere near there to date.  dmblaf

Don't know if this link is still good, haven't tried it. The back cover sleeve has a link to visit with the author and it is: http://www.TheBarkingParrot.com The copy write on the book is 2008, so not too old, it may still be a good link. I will have to try it and see what it has. I do like this author's style of writing. She has a way of making you feel you are there with her & Sarah watching it all unfold as she learns how to live with her human flock. Lots of funny things as well in this one.  :thumbs2:

I know the title is a bit controversial sounding and if anyone has a problem with my adding it here, please pm me and I will gladly discuss it with you.

:lol1: Years ago before they got totally way out, I read the rag mags such as "Globe" and "National Enquirer". I got tired of paying for stupid stuff and went to just looking at advertisement magazines I got for free in the mail. Since the price of postage and internet has cut that way down I either take my tablet with me if I have things to catch up on or I read a few pages in this book.  :hehe:
