He gets a strand in his beak first!! 
Holds it with his foot!
Clasps it as tight as he can and looks down at me as if to say "Haha, now what are you going to do"

 Kendra, now the problem I have is, I can't get up as he just refuses to let go! If I put my hand up to try and get him off, he then bites me, so I can't win

I could see where that could be a situation.I would not want to get bit  Ive had Tequila climb on my stomach while I was on the couch. He will only get off if I have a perch, otherwise I will get bit. Their was no perch in site so I was stuck  |
