My house has termites!!!   :cry1:  I am going to have my house tented and fumigated.  I will be boarding Clover and Lilliput during this process.  I won't be bringing them right back when the house is cleared to move back in but I don't know how long is long enough.  Does anyone have experience with this?

I kept mine out of the house for 2 days after the tenting. Keep in mind that EVERY surface they can come in contact with has to be cleaned as the pesticide will have settled on it

Yeah, my car is going to be jammed full of bird food and toys.  lol.  I'm going to pull their cages and stands outside to the very back of the yard.  The rest of the stuff in the house will have to be cleaned.  So you think a couple of days is enough time?

Oh I feel for you having to do all that moving and cleaning. I have no experience with fumigating and birds, just wanted to tell you good luck with it all, Lori.  hugu

Yes, my vet told me to open the windows for 2 days and clean with OCD, the open windows remove any still aerosolized pesticide and any fumes from cleaning products. The third day they came home. You might want to take pictures of their room before you move anything so you can put everything back exactly where it was:  some birds can be really traumatized by changes in their environment

The birds that I have don't really mind change, they're used to it.  This is going to be a pain.  My three dogs will be staying with a friend who they know very well,  the cat will come with me and the birds I will board at their vet.  The fish tank?  Sigh,  that's a whole other ball game.  I can't move it out though, it weighs about a ton.  Literally.  I've gotten some good advice on that.  I can't let the bugs eat my house up so here it goes.  LOL

no doubt, you will be exhausted when all is said and done. The fish tank was actually relatively easy to deal with in my case.
