Ive made this and its out of fleece. I want to make a bigger one out of denim[for my Macaw]. She has this fascination with jeans [and im usually in them  lol] she likes the texture . Anyone know about denim and birds?

As with any toy you will have to check it frequently as denim gets "stringy", almost as though it unravels & you may have to trim it at times. Denim is safe to use. If you use denim make sure you do not use stretch denim as it has elastic in it which could cause a problem if ingested use all cotton.
