I have read plenty of Tozie's stories here and they may be a bit too fast for me to keep up with.  But then I do love a challenge and they would certainly give me one. And don't think I haven't looked at a few adds wanting to sell them, Terri. Luckily they were a few hundred miles away from me or I'd been over to their house in a flash to pick them up. :deer:

oh Terri! they are just adorable!    i LOVE caiques. if i had more room i'd have  a WHOLE ROOM FULL of caiques!    they are just the most amazing creatures! <melt>


as far as marley's heritage?    he came to me at 6 months old a PERFECT Pallid, tho he was sold as a Black headed caique. then with each molt he's lost his green eyeshadow and gotten that orange blaze.  George has suggested he and his breeder friend believe Marley to be a "Pure Atavistic Caique." i really cant say for sure. the lady who hand fed him at Petco says he's pure blooded BHC. So that leaves me going  :cstars:  cause genetics REALLY confuse me on a GOOD DAY .... and today aint a good one  it doesnt matter to me. i'm not into breeding  :deer:  and i'm certainly not letting him go. so i occasionally wonder bout his bloodlines but generally, i'm used to his appearance now and dont think twice about it. as a matter of fact, a traditional BHC tends to cause me to look twice cause i'm not used to it anymore

Terri now you've got me worried.  I chose a Rosie cause all that I'd read and was told , I felt like that species of Cockatoo would fit in my schedule and flock the best.

Sooo, I'm wondering if I stepped into the wrong shoes this time.  But then you know me and I don't back down from a challenge. Maybe a Caique in my flock in a year or two.

No De'andrea[Im messing with you  ]. Rb2s are pretty easy quiet birds . He will probably go through a little bratty faze. But you will be able to learn him . Wait till you hear their voice [so cute] . Funny pink little things . Just trying to tell you Caiques are self sufficient . Nobody plays harder and enjoys things more than them . But they will come and love all over you too [then go back to playing].
