I went to turn on the light in the bird room. I only opened the door a crack -- just enough to put my arm through and say good morning to everyone. What did I see? TEX! He was just waiting for that door to open. He came flying like he could get through that cracked open door. So, in order for him not to get hurt I naturally opened the door wider. He landed on my shoulder, gave me a few whistles, then leaned in for a kiss. So I figured, why not. I'll let him spend a little bit of time with me while I had breakfast. So, I have my breakfast and take him back to his room. The little stinker climbed to the middle of my back where I couldn't reach him!

Needless to say, he is still with me an hour later.  slaph

Yeah, he's my little buddy. He was very people oriented from the time he hatched it seems. He, Yellow Rose, and Jesse were all born here in my house. I hand fed all three of them. Tex and Rose then went all the way to St. Louis to live with their new mom. Then they all moved to Dallas a few years ago. Then last year their mom had some life changes (her mom moved in and there was no room plus she didn't like birds) and had to rehome them. She called me up and asked if I wanted them back. I was like "OF COURSE!" Tex remembered me! I was so thrilled! Rose has always been aloof, but Tex is a people bird.
