We just brought this little sweetie home this past Fri. She is just the sweetest little thing and so adorable. Her name is Serita Lynae. hugu

My Pineapple Green Cheek Peta died this past Feb and we just couldn't stand not hearing that sweet GCC chirp and beautiful face. And Peta was Jerry little sweetheart, the only one of my 6 larger parrots that would allow him to hold her. He was really torn up over her passing and kept asking me if I was getting another. So I caved in & found one in my state we could go pick up instead of having shipped. We couldn't have found a sweeter more perfect one and Serita was hatched the same night/early morning Peta died. I feel Peta went to see her and told her she needed to hatch so they could become one and come back to us.

These were taken Sat and she has settled in in a super hurry. She loves to be scratched and cuddled already.  :twirl:

Here is her first photo the night we got home around midnight with her in her snuggle hut and a feather painting a friend/member (She goes by Wesleylover here or maybe it's Peatreelover I forget) on another forum sent me for winning a photo competition on that forum. The feather painting is of Peta my little girl I lost. I'm going to put the painting in a shadow box type enclosure to protect it forever. hugu

Thanks Deb, Sondra & Ditty. :twirl:

That snuggle hut photo was a fluke. I tried some different setting on my camera and I forgot now which one, got up right on the cage bars and snapped it. I was blown away at the unusual back light effect. Maybe that was the setting I used? It was like 1:30 or something like that in the morning after I got her settled in her cage from the long day in Irving.  slaph She was ready to go to bed by then. sleepy

I will see how my printer does with it and make a large photo of it.  loveuk

Thanks Sapphire. Serita is a big snuggle bug. That girl literally leaps onto my hand and refuses to get off when I open her cage door. She loves to be out with us like Peta did. Mar calls her Serita Peta, so I'm changing her name to Serita Peta Lynae.

Jerry told me today while he was holding her, "You're right, she's Peta reborn". loveuk

Yes Serita will willingly go right on his hand too. He loves her dearly. Funny he's a big guy, but he can't handle any larger bird than a GCC. dmblaf

What is a canvas pic Tozie? I'm not familiar with them.  think

Since getting the digital cameras I don't take my photos anywhere to print them anymore. I do it from my own printer, so I am out of touch with what the professional printing places can do with them.

I only wished I knew how I managed that shot and what setting I had the camera on.  hmm

a canvas looks like a true artist's photo, it makes it kinda look like it was painted. and they are really really nice. we've just gotten the machine that does 'em at work and they are VERY popular. the cost is about 1/3 of what the professional photo places charge. of course, if ya add the floating frame it increases the price substantially! lol! if you choose to do it, lemme know, there are coupon codes out there that'll save ya some money.
