Hellooo!  It's nice to "see" everyone again.

My birdie flock has decreased greatly due to old age taking most of my wee finches.  I have only the three amigos left of my 35.

I also have seven parakeets - I took them in for a friend whose mom was dying from a heart ailment.  She couldn't stand the dander and seed hulls.  They came to live here over four years ago and never left.

I haven't brought the birdie flock back up to par because I now have quite a few farm animal friends.  I still have chickens - 14 now - and I have four mini horses, five goats and four sheep.  I have three dogs and Stanley the African Clawed Frog is still around.  He's almost eight years old too!

Wow! What a group of animals and birds you have. I've never heard of that frog before, can you post a picture? Stanley sounds interesting. I want some chickens but that will have to wait a while until we can clear some land and make a coop for them. Too many wild animals for them to run free.

It's nice to meet you!

Here is a photo of Ollie, Stanley's former friend.  African Clawed Frogs are those wee little white frogs (they come in brown too) that the pet stores sell.  The weeeee froggies grow up to five inches BIG.  Stanley is about four inches long and a couple of inches wide.  I had a female who was much larger.  She didn't live as long and died about the age of six.

They need a big tank...about ten gallons minimum per frog.  They are aquatic, but breathe air and do best on a long aquarium rather than tall.

I have Stanley where he can see me coming and going and he asks for food when he's hungry by coming up to the top of the tank and waving his little hands at me.  He'll take food out of my fingers and stuffs it into his mouth with his hands.
