I can't tell you how stoked I am right now!  HW stepped up from INSIDE the cage!  First time in 2 yrs he has done this without trying to mame me.   clap  He usually dangles from the door.  But today he was doing the dangle, I would get up, walk in and he would run to his swing inside game.  slaph  So I started playing with him and he was definitely engaged so I figured why not try again.  I offered my arm and he stepped up as he held on to steady himself on the cage door but then quickly jumped off when his tail hit the edge of the swing as I took him through the swing.  So I offered my arm in the back this time and he readily stepped on and came out!!    See Patience pays off.  woot woot

We'll get there even if it takes us 20 yrs.  dmblaf

Yay for HW!!!  hugu

He is so beautiful, I'm glad to hear he is interacting with you in the cage now. That is a GIANT step in my opinion!! loveuk

I think maybe all the macaws across this country got together & sent mental messages to each other to try & be good kids. In the last two days when I am putting the birds back in cages to leave for work, Jerry has offered Roscoe his arm to go to his cage & instead of him moving to the other side of the play perch he has readily gotten on & allowed Jerry  put him in on  his perch I always have him step down on.  smile3 Roscoe has only rarely allowed Jerry to hold him & only if I handed him off telling him to step up on his arm. So maybe he is finally accepting Jerry as part of his flock.
