Henry is yellow and white with a faint black mask and GREEN, yes GREEN !, feathers under his lower mandible. Has anyone ever heard of a Tiel with green feathers before? I'm concerned about illness with this type of mutation. I've been trying to post pics but between photobucket and my computer giving me fits I haven't been able to do much, I can't even post most of the time. I have all week off so I'll try for as long as it takes to get pics up.

There is a recent (last 5 years or so) mutation that has been established called Emerald. They are said to have a greenish cast, but they are not green because cockatiels do not have blue or yellow pigmentation. Can you take some pics of the green area?

OK, I got 1 pic to upload. The green colour is much brighter than the pic suggests.

ok, its in the mask area, where there is yellow pigmentation...but there still is no blue. Any colors in his foods? fresh or dried fruits he's been eating? Inks on his cage liners? Dyes from a boing? Any environmental sources?

George, there is nothing green in his cage, he's got reds, blues, and purples in his cage and all cloth items have been run through the washer prior to putting in his cage. You can't see in the pic but he's got a faint orange patch where his crest starts on his head. Florescent lights wash his colours out when I take pics. All I know is it's weird.

I agree Henry is a gorgeous boy!! I have no ideas for you either. I don't know much about mutations, but I can't remember hearing about any tiels with black masks & green feathers. I see I am not the only one who would love to 'mutate' photobucket to another planet! And then throw FireFox in with them for disabling my Java every time I manage to get the update finally uploaded & installed with my crappy internet. :pipen: which I have to have to get photobucket to work! :pit:Yep, I totally understand how you feel even if your problems with PB is for a different reason!
