Got a couple of new photos from the breeder Kitty of my Green Wing baby, Ruby Jewel today.  loveuk
She is growing fast! oh She looks so big & not so much a baby as in the first pics Kitty sent me. smile3

Kitty said she isn't eating on her own yet, but I don't have her paid off yet either. So it is ok that she still needs to stay put for awhile. hugu Kitty says she is a very cuddly little girl, more so than any of her previous baby GWs. And that she likes to snuggle on her chest to fall asleep while Kitty watches t.v. grouphug I may have to hire a babysitter to snuggle with Ruby Jewel while I'm at work. :twirl: Sounds like she will be totally spoiled by the time she gets home. dmblaf

Patients dear Mikey, I am old :oldg: & you are young.

These feathered kids will outlive me. sad8 You just make sure you keep in touch with me through the years hugu & your wish just might come true. smile3 dmblaf

Seriously, it is always a good idea to have a backup plan & home when the inevitable happens. hmm So a few years down the road when you are well settled in your life & work we may have a little talk about this more in depth. thumb loveuk

very true Nakia.  that is why I got my julian now, I want him to live his whole life with me, God willing.  a lot of birds end up in rescues because a person passes away and no one is willing/able to take them.. patience, you will get your wish...you just may not know when or how.  she is beautiful Nakia, and we are excited for you!!!!!

Thanks everyone!  hugu Sorry I've been a bit absent from here. I have been cleaning out one closet, the main one so I can put all the crap from the closet in the corner of the living room (which has mostly tools & junk in) opposite from Roscoe & Angel's aviary that will be torn out to put another aviary up for Ruby Jewel. sweaten

Grey, I can just see me walking into a dayroom & hearing the offenders say, "Look at that 'Stool Pigeon' on her arm."  sad8"Hey Stoolie...Oh Yeah, your goin' down tonight!" :deer: dmblaf Now I do bet Ruby Jewel would love it 75 ft up in the air in the towers.

I have a couple of update photos from the breeder to put up here again, finally. I have been fighting with FireFox to allow Java to stay enabled so my photobucket will work so I can upload my pics.  :pit: pullhair Well, I re-downloaded the newest version of Java twice & both times FireFox will not allow it to run due to security issues. Without it photobucket won't work!! loco6 If Java is used for so many things & they won't work without it, why in the Hell does it have so much security issues? Since Aug. I have fought with FireFox over my Java almost every week!!! :cstars: So, anyway I just went to internet explorer & got the damn Java to work! handshappy

Kitty Ruby Jewel's breeder says she still is not eating solid foods on her own, so it is still going to be awhile til she is ready to 'fly' home. In the meantime I will be getting everything ready for my widdle cutie. Kitty also said she had to trim her good side wing (the right one) a bit to even her out. She said sometimes she goes in circles like a one legged duck. I expected to need to keep the normal wing trimmed to keep Ruby Jewel balanced. She is growing & looks different in every photo Kitty sends.

Gosh what a beautiful bird! For awhile I thought that if I were to ever get a macaw that I would get a B&G but lately these guys have caught my eye more. I bet you are freaking out! I'd be so happy!!!! Do you know when she'll be home yet?

Thanks LittleBeaks!! I spoke with Kitty on the phone Tue. evening & she said Ruby Jewel still doesn't want to start weaning. I told her it would be ok if she still needs another month or two. I told her I would not get mad & I don't want her to rush. I do want to have her home, but not at the expense of a neurotic macaw cause she was not ready to grow up.  wink1

I have never owned a Green Wing before Ruby Jewel, but most of what I read & from others who own them, they & the Hyacinths are the most gentlest of the macaws.  hugu They truly are considered the 'Gentle Giants' of the parrot world. thumb loveuk
