Hubs always laughs at me when we go to the woods, it seems at least 1 turkey makes a be-line for my head and I have to drop to the ground or risk getting hit. This happens both on the way into the woods AND on the way out, and we never go in and out in the same place. I laugh at him because he'll be sitting in his any one of his treestands and it never fails he gets slammed in the head by one of those things!  laugh (Lucky for him they are either getting out of a tree or going up into one as opposed to flying by - then he'd be in trouble)

Now that would make an AWESOME Hallmark Holiday Card! thumb

Yeah Grey, the Toms won't be meeting up with the 'Old Ladies' til about April...at least down here that is the start of their courtship.  smile3

Boy are you ever right Sondra, them darn turkeys can't fly worth sh*t!! Like I said in a previous thread awhile back, I got clobbered by a tom on Mother's Day, in 1996. Rather my pickup windshield got clobbered. pullhair Cratered the damn thing (windshield, driver's side) & I didn't even have a toe tag to get to take the turkey home...the dead turkey that is.  sad8

I used to have a tom & 2 female bronze turkeys as pets. They make a good yard bird, no problem to take care of.

D, I would contemplate that the turkeys quit coming through your yard 'bout the time they caught wind that you think turkey makes the best smoked meat. slaph laffhrd Probably thought it safe for this visit with all the snow about. Surely you wouldn't be smoking their hide on such a cold day? laugh
