Syd may be off for a bit as they do mourn, just so you don't worry too much about him. If he doesn't start eating & drinking normally after a couple of days, have him seen by your vet. Hang in there!  hugu loveuk

Hopefully today will be better, hope he got some rest.  He had been picking at the millet in there.  I also forgot to mention that the home does a free obituary for those who want it from all those who have passed in the previous month....I never would have thought of that!

Did Syd get a chance to say good-bye? Was he allowed to sit with her a while?

I was asleep when she passed but I think she was down there for a while with Syd nearby before Mar took her out.  I don't know for sure though.

He was with her.  I wanted to take her out and just cuddle her but I though it better to let him be with her.  After quite a while I did take her out and had my time with her.  It was wanting 2 reactions at once but I thought it better to him to have his time first.

you did well Mar!  thumb  hugu  loveuk

Hopefully he'll bounce backquick. Each bird is different, just like people, some take longer to get over a death than others.  If he's not eating his food & drinking normally by Monday morning call the vet and ask for advice, if they think he should be seen, get him in. Millet is basically a non nutritious food, same as corn, so he should be eating his normal foods, maybe a tad less, but definitely more than he has been. Please keep us posted on how he's doing.

Sorry to hear of your loss  sadboy3  I completely understand how syd is as that is how Mango was and still is.  Unfortunately I don't have the options you do for another buddy for him.  Hope the whole flock and you guys recover well.  I'll keep you in my thoughts.

omG.  I am sorry but this morning is the first I heard of this.  hubby is in an MBA program and uses the comp almost constantly fri night into sun eve.  with the hurricane I had only a few mins here and there and BP would not load long before it blinked off again.   pullhair

I am SO SORRY to hear about her.  I remember when you received her and she was such a good companion for Syd.  I am sorry he is so upset.    cwy i hope he wil be able to have the comfort of the other guys to give him solace until the most painful part of her loss passes.  she was such a beauty.  now Miah has a wing...woman? with her.  BIG hugs from me to you both .  hugu  grouphug

Anni is safe home with family and flock...well her spirit has always been here
I will have a special "throne" for her and when it is all ready I will share it with ya! thumb
The boys have been fine.  Syd seems to slowly be coming around and is eating/drinking fine.  Aussie has been pretty vocal...he likes being closer to Chill loveuk
