Caleb is doing much better with his showers. He doesnt always get soaked but he always gets a bit damp, at least. He actually gets really excited when i say 'okay, i'm gonna go take a shower!' he hangs out on his shower perch while i shower. He has several toys in there but his favs are his toothbrush and his plastic nut/bolt toy. As a result of all the showers his feathers are really looking wonderful. on a side note, he's grown in 4 flight feathers and seems to be letting them grow. he's not barbered any feathers lately, that i've noticed. His wound was a big Y shape. but he's allowed the left branch of the Y to nearly completely heal and the bottom part seems to be slowly healing too. anyway, some of his shower pics:

That's so awesome!! I'm glad to hear he's not barbering as much and leaving his chest alone a bit more. It's good to see Caleb has a good tooth brush as opposed to the Dollar Store variety. The ones from the Dollar Store are dangerous for birds because the bristles are held in place with staples.  bugeye

the toothbrush was on sale at work.... free after register reward... plus my discount so i MADE 50 cents on the deal  smile3

when he first got it he picked all the rubber handle bits off, now he just chews on it and brushes his beak and tongue with it.  dmblaf  he seems to like the way the bristles feel on his tongue. he also likes how it feels when i use it to 'brush' his feet.
