I buy these whole wheat blueberry pancakes in the freezer dept at walmart. They are loaded with all the nutrients a molting parrot could need... okay honestly they ARE full of your average 'breakfast' nutrients: the full range of B vitamins, iron, calcium, etc...no zinc.... apparently zinc is the new additive fad. But that's a whole diff topic. Anyway, once or twice a week a make one little pancake for the fids and divide it between the 5 parrots. Ya wanna see some happy fids? when i announce "its pancake day!" they all start chirping and hollering. So i dish up the yummy treat that's thrown on top of the usual breakfast offering. I pass the bowls out, and everyone eagerly runs to his/her bowl. three outta five eat the pancakes first, ollie and twiggy prefer to save theirs for later... dknow  whatever works. So Ollie ate his breakfast, hollered for his 'dessert'...aka a half a ritz. what's less fattening than a ritz cracker?  a half of a ritz cracker.  dmblaf  so anyway, as he finished up his ritz and was about to go feed his mate (his bell) he gets his pancake on his toenail. shakes foot. its impaled on that nail, so its not going anywhere. well, now he's annoyed with that rude pancake.  :somad:  He gives his foot a good hard shake and the pancake flew up and smacked him in the bottom of his beak and landed back in his bowl.  pullhair  I was dying laughing at him as he moaned and whined at the rude pancake. so he grabs it and tosses it forcefully to the floor of his cage. I hate it when my pancake attacks me in the mornings, dont you??  laugh

Reminds me of those commercials...your favorite food fighting you??  As it smacks them in the face.
