slaph ya know, its not like my angels are starving. they have plenty of food: fresh, cooked, dry, even seed and a few treats that arent strictly 'healthy' like ritz crackers. ollie was on top of his cage eating...something. i slowly approach, 'whatcha got ollie?' in that sweet sing-songy voice ya use when ya dont want 'em upset.  oh its some cheese. the biggest problem with him eating this cheese? i havent had cheese slices since MONDAY. so i offer him a ritz, 'i'll trad ya'  notcare  nope. offer him a bit of granola bar 'heeeeere baby, ya want a cookie? its peanut butter. yummmy'  notcare  nope.  slaph so i go get a piece of FRESH cheese outta the fridge. 'Here baby. i'll give you MY cheese and you give me YOURS'.   notcare  'pleeeeeeze baby? that CANT be good for you'  he finally drops the old cheese to take a swipe at my finger.  dknow  oh well,  its a means to an end.  dmblaf  i finally get the old cheese and throw it out and he accepts the new cheese. now where the heck did he GET the old cheese???  think  not a clue. i just cleaned cages so it would seem that i'd have found it but he must've had it hidden VERY well.

Should i be worried?? do i need to have his stomach pumped??  slaph  okay, ya the last one was a joke but seriously, do i need to worry? ya think he'll be okay? he didnt get much but he DID eat a bit of it. it wasnt moldy, it was just kinda cruncy on the outside.  slaph

he should be OK. Try not to worry & just watch his poops (they'll probably be normal), if he has diarrhea for 24 hours go see the vet, but I'm betting he'll be fine.

Some birds hide their favourite food/treats for later. He could have tucked it up under a wing (yes, birds do this).

slaph  yes, tho caleb is the pro at hiding things in his feathers they've all done it at one time or another. if he had it in his feathers, it was probably only there while i was cleaning, then he could have put it in his luv shak, a toy, or even in his dry food dish. he only gets seed a couple times a week. Most likely tho, he had it in one of his toys that are on top of the cage and when he came out today found it again.

Yeah, I agree with Sondra. Dry & crumbly shouldn't be much of a problem. If it had been moldy and stinky then I would have worried.  sweaten

Mikey, these wonderful creatures we lovingly call our 'angels>fiddies>darlings' are super intelligent. They are very creative and always thinking of something new. dmblaf

Hiding a prized found treasure is just a natural thing for these guys. :twirl:

I can see the look on your face, where did that come from!   :deer:

Yep they do hide stuff in their wingies, Yoshi did that when he stole my earring, I had thought for sure he swallowed it, put him in his cage to check elsewhere and I see him grab it out of there and start chewing on it.
