I think so.  I know or heard that there articles were becoming less etc and that they were considering it.  I guess you can only print so many articles concerning one topic  dknow

Many people were boycotting as they cater to breeders as far as articles go.

it is true.  When I heard the rumor I sent a message to Patricia Sund.  No electronic version either.  Just that subscriptions have been dwindling off and no $ to do it anymore.

To be honest?  3-4 years ago I became bored with the Mag and it really did nothing for me anymore.  Maybe kinda like this place has become, if ya really think about it lol  And yes, the catering to breeders and the Corps that supported them started getting to me also.  This Mag was more for catering to the $$$ makers than it was to those who really cared about parrots, not to mention the parrots plights themselves.

I kinda let my subscription end I realized I wasn't excited any more or hardly looked at it te past couple years I use to love it so much.  I feel when they started stapling instead of gluing the mag (if that makes sense) was the start of the mags downfall but K&t dad I still have lots of hope for this news forum keep ur head up!

hmm  it figures, i just bought a new 2 year subscription.

unless things have changed in the last few years, most magazines and newspapers make their money from advertisers, not subscribers. well, the web is the best form of advertising there is. so less advertisers feel its cost effective to use print. its kinda sad.  i guess cause i'm so 'young' to parrot keeping but its all still 'fresh' to me.  dknow

That's a shame...but I stopped getting a subscription years ago due to the content dwindling. I didn't feel it was worth the money anymore.  scared1

Patricia SUnd said it was the last issue (sept) and I re-read it last night and there was no sign or statement about it, maybe it got the axe suddenly?? I would like a frewell issue!! I feel so...cut off!! they said they were shutting down like many other printed publications because everyone subscribed to the online stuff now.. I like the feel of paper in my hands, the way you can fold and mark it up and share it and read it on the couch without batteries or wires.  call me old fashioned? fine.  I like the real deal.. sorry if it is going.  maybe a trip to BC is warranted.

that @#%$* sucks!   :pipen:  :somad: I for one enjoyed it. Yes it dwindled, but so did our stinkin economy. And besides, they brought down the prices of the subscription to make up for the lack of content. My thought was that it was better then nothing. Now what do we have? As we say in Italian, "cazzo" "una grande mingiatta"!!! I was hell bent on seeing them through this... slaph  and thought that others would see it that way too.  cnfsd

ok I called the 1-800# for Bird Talk, they are in fact folding.  the lady said they "seized as of the Sept issue." the remaining issues will be sent out as Dog FAncy (yeah, cuz THAT is the same) and if you don't want that, they will give refunds, but it will take time.  They need to talke down the link where you can subscribe to BIRD TALK and post something on the site about it closing!!! it is NEW news as of this week, so they have not reacted in print yet or online! CRAZY HUH!!?? I confirmed it.  I am bummed.
