Anyone see this article?  slaph laffhrd

Well I just took Zeus out in the back yard...we were having a nice leisurely walk and even in his geriatric stage, Zeus seemed to be on the scent of something.  We got up to the apple tree by the chix coop and I looked up at the next shed.....Holy crap!  It's a cougar....  :deer:, no....a cat......no...it was a momma fox and 2 babies!!!! loveuk  The babies were frolicking and having fun....Zeus seemed to still be on a hunt so I picked him up and we went back into the house...didn't want to take any chances on momma coming and attacking us.  Funny thing I just read the cougar article right before we had gone outside!  :twirl:  I can now hear a hawk out there and hope they aren't going for the little foxie babies. cwy

Tozie, what is really sad is that there are more wild pythons in Florida than Florida Panthers! I was looking at the FWC website a few ddays ago and they listed 3 species of Pythons and 3 species of Anaconda that are well established. Tegus are also well established as are water monitors and iguanas

awww foxie babies are adorable!  Do you remember the ones we had under our shed?
Chances are there is a burrow somewhere close by the babies that the momma took over.

New York doesn't have any cougars, just ask the DEC.  :pipen:

Mar, the NY DEC stated several times at news confrences in our area that ther were no cougars in NY, none, zero, zilch. They then tried to arrest a friend of ours when he shot a cougar going after his cows. Long story short, the man's brother is a NY State Trooper who told the DEC they couldn't arrest his brother for shooting something that didn't exist in the state according to the DEC. The DEC was allowed to take the tracking collar the cat was wearing but not the carcass - our friend got to keep that.

And here I thought that most straight men would be ok with a cougar in their yard, then I realized it was the four legged type that you were referring to :oopse5:
