In states where it's legal, I've been told that baby chucks make awesome pets.

Those are adorable!! I've seen a grown one or two on our jaunts across the U.S. We don't have any around here. I've always wanted a capybara for a pet. To me they look like a huge overgrown guinea pig. They can be bought (someone in Houston breeds them) & are not really that expensive, but I don't have the yard to keep one in anymore. I can just see me trying to keep a rodent that large in the house running loose with 7 dogs & 2 macaws!

I just looked up what a capybara is and those things get pretty big! Could you imagine the size of holes that they would dig...if they dig. We have so many tunnels around here from the chucks it's crazy. I did get to see all 5 babies and momma out yesterday, they are starting to look less guinea pig-ish. I hope some of them do move away....5-7 is way too many to have around here unless they move farther away from the house or near the creek or something! I can just see it now....the chicken coop or the other building falling into the ground from all their tunnels! :ugstpd:
