(13:50:47) MrsZee: Very new here... Hello! Wondering if anyone knows how to catch a parrot that is around my backyard. Obviously it's someone's pet that has escaped.

i'm not too sure, to be honest with you. i've heard you could set a cage up in the yard with food and water in it. a pet would find the sight of a cage familiar, i'd imagine.

anyone else?

Do not stand under it, stand a distance away with a CLEAR viewof the bird. A tame bird won't usually come down from a tree with leaves, you usually have to go to them. Put food and water out and sit near-by.
