Tube feeding a pigeon means pushing feeding formula directly into the pigeon's crop. Tube feeding is a necessity if the pigeon cannot eat by itself. Additionally, tube feeding is sometimes used to administer antibiotics or supplemental nutrients. If you rescue an orphaned, injured, or sick pigeon, you might need to hand feed the bird.
If you do not have access to a wildlife rehabilitator who can take care of your rescued pigeon, you might have to tube feed the pigeon yourself. This tutorial will walk you through the process of tube feeding an orphaned, sick, or injured pigeon.
CAUTION: If you do not have experience with birds, please just mix the formula (as describe in this tutorial) and put the food directly into the pigeon's mouth, NOT into the crop. Crop feeding is for people with experience with birds or similar wildlife rescue.

When all is done that is asked from me and I can fly no higher, I pray this day his hand extends to welcome home a flier.
