On Fri. my last afternoon to get ready for work I had Roscoe out on his play perch. I take both boys out for a little play time. Angel was being a butt & wouldn't climb on the perch to come out. He would climb above the perch & all around it, but wouldn't climb on. So after the 3rd time trying to coax him out with a treat I closed the door. Roscoe could have cared less if brother was there or not and greedily ate Angel's share of the treats. I was in my bathroom putting my hair up and Roscoe kept leaning toward the door wanting to come in. My bathroom is not big enough for the play perch to fit, so I park it in front of the door so they can see me. Roscoe has never been inside of the bathroom before, there is just too much stuff for him to get into in there. :twirl: So after I get my hair up & out of the way, I pick up Roscoe & take him in. He immediately takes a look at the "new" bird in there & the eyes start flashing & low guttural sounds come out of his mouth. I think he was cussing along with it. I have two mirrors in there, one over the sink (that's the one he saw first) & a long one on the opposite wall. When he saw himself in the long mirror, he went after that "macaw" . He pecked it, but it wouldn't fight back. He looked at me & rolled halfway on his side up against me mumbling. He then tried to attack the intruding parrot one more time. That is when I decided the bathroom was not a good place for this boy. I took Roscoe out to go back on the perch & of course he didn't want to go on. He wanted to know where the "other" macaw had gone. Jerry comes up about that time & stands there. Roscoe is already pissed about a strange bird being in the house & he lunges at Jerry, misses him & latches onto my upper arm. OUCH, that hurt & I told Jerry to move away NOW! Roscoe gave me a nice little pinch. Roscoe was leaning against me & rolling around in my arms clearly not wanting to share me with anybody at that moment. :deer: I know what to look forward to if I ever decide to bring another macaw into the flock. Oh well, a greenwing will have to wait. Fiddies can be funny sometimes.

Yep, I guess he does think I'm two timing him with a big beautiful macaw. He must've thought that bird in the mirror was a handsome guy the way he was carrying on about me. He gets a little jealous with Angel sometimes, but not as much as he was Fri. They do reek of personality, sometimes a bit too much! They are so sweet tho', so it evens out. Gonna' have to watch that boy real close when he finally gets to meet Leyla.

No, Leyla is still at the breeders home. She still isn't old enough to be weaned & come home to me. Sometime this summer she should be weaned (meaning eating pellets & veggies along with the formula) enough for me to bring her home & then I will take over her feedings so she is well socialized & bonded. :twirl:

If you mean green Eclectus, no. Green means male, varying shades of purple & blue (depending on species) and a bright red head means female. Leyla is a Solomon Island Eclectus, I have one new pic of her since she has fully feathered out. I don't have it in photobucket yet or I would post it here for you to see YoshiMike.
