 thumb  great book!!

a few other good ones (IMO)are
The Guide To Companion Parrot Behavior by Maddie Sue Athan
The Second Hand Parrot by Maddie Sue Athan (even if it is a baby parrot never rehomed it brings a new perspective and new insight on behaviors)
Good Bird by Barbara Heidenrich

And Sally Blanchard has a website on Companion Parrots too which is wonderful.

So get reading!!   wink1

If you cannot get any of these and want to read them I would be willing to lend them to ya via mail, just lemmie know.

I have that & almost all the other books mentioned.  thumb

I also have Barbara Heidenrich's DVD, "The Basics of Parrot Training, A live workshop". I haven't viewed all of it yet, there are three discs in it. I go to her website & read a lot too. I hope to go to one of her workshops one day since she has them periodically in Texas.  happyjack

I have always loved reading everything I could get my hands on about the creatures I have. I jokingly call myself an intellectual reader as I don't read much in way of novels.  roll

As much as internet gives us a universe of knowledge if we are smart enough to utilize it, I still love the feel of a book or magazine in my hands that I can thumb through anytime or place I want.  :twirl:

another great book is 'parrot problem solver'. you may look at the title and think  think but i dont have any problems. But the book focuses more on understanding parrots and their nature. It talks about the different types of aggression, the natural instinct that fuels that type of aggression, and how to understand WHY. It also talks about basic instincts like chewing, loud vocalizing, etc that can sometimes try our patience as parronts.
