Well work is almost over in 15 minutes. I will be back on tomorrow no computer at home so i will reply to posts tomorrow. i appreciate all the comments and enjoy having mac alot. He now has a forever home no matter what he does. You dont get rid of a kid and i believe animals are family too no matter how much they pee or poop around the house lol if grandma starts doing it your not getting rid of her so why a pet lol. Its your problem to work through with your animal and if your not willing to do it, its going to be hard for your pet to find someone else to.
that is very true. I hope you stay here long :) i know i will. the forum needs macaw lovers :D

Those are awesome pics & an equally awesome story! That's just great that you have bonded with him so soon. Thankfully the previous owners that locked him away didn't destroy his trust completely. At 20 yrs. and coming around to you so quickly, he has had someone in his past who took the time & dedication to work with him & show him love. It is so inspiring to hear that he held out hope that someone like you would come along & give him the love & respect that a majestic bird like a macaw deserves. Look forward to seeing & hearing more wonderful stories from you both! Oh, and welcome to the forum. The folks here are the bestest for sure!!!

do you think you could try to work with the B&G on an aviator harness? if he can't fly and gets startled or taken by a gust, he won't get lost or hurt this way? or lost?
you are off to a great start!! that is awesome!!!

Lol im confused. A harness is a like a leash right? So you are saying that a harness prevents a bird to fly, so it goes over the wing or something? I have seen a picture a harness and it doesnt seem to do that. I thought it was just like a leash? I have poor comprehension skills when it comes to text lol im sorry

A harness goes around the chest with a part the wings go through. A leash is attached to the harness. Think dog harness.

Mikey if you look at some of HW's pics he has an aviator harness on when outside. One day it got gusty when out and before we got to the car the wind was literally lifting him off me even though he was gripping my arm for dear life. (ouch) I had to literally cuddle him into my body to keep the wind from lifting him. It was so scary and I was thanking goodness I had a harness onhim I was holding that strap so tight. Oh just the thought of it again...yikes.
