My mom and I went to a yard sale thingy that was being hosted to raise money for one of the ladies I used to do agility with my dog Rusty with. She has cancer, and it's an event to raise money for her.  We got there late...but immediately, I saw a huge cage in the middle of the room and went to look at it. It is in great condition, minus whoever had it prior cut off the ladder that was at the top (probably for space issues). It has everything but the ladder with it and they were asking 250 for it. I probably could have shopped around and found something a little cheaper, but I wasn't really looking for cages at this time. It's a California brand cage. So...I bought it. It has never been used! (or so it was advertized...but it looks brand new)

I'm going to be putting Gizmo in it...He's gotten so territorial about his other cage...I figured a change of cagery and toys might help. He'll still be using his other one, it will probably just go in another room and this will be his main one. Dad is going to grind down the rough edges from where the ladder was cut off, and I'm going to wrap it in rope so the guys can't chew/lick the unpainted areas. We'll probably stick a playgym up on top eventually.

Without further ado, here's a picture of it!
I'll have more eventually once I get him moved into it...It's too windy outside today to clean it, so it will have to wait.

It's not as tall as his cage right now, so hopefully will help with his behavior. The top of this cage is just below eye level. The bottom is closer to the floor than his current cage. He really is hormonal right now so hopefully this change will help some. Never thought I'd have a bird that needs more than one cage.  think headhammer

It's huge! So he won't be lacking any space :). Can't wait to get it set up....but that will have to wait until the next nice day we have here, that I'm off from work! hehe.

Couple more pics of it...where the sun wasnt shining so brightly into the room (since it is nighttime now! lickit) . Taken from my phone, so please pardon the fuzziness. (and the clutter in the background)

(hoping these numbers can tell me exactly which cage it is? lol)

It came with 4 ceramic dishes (has slots for 3), the seed guards, and the original wooden perch. :)

edit: Looks like this is the cage I have. It's thus missing one bowl, and of course the ladder part at the top. I got it for about half price! :D

Haha, I have 3 or 4 spare cages (One is HUGE! It's my grandmother's african grey's old cage that she gave to me). Gizmo's other one needs a power clean....so it's going in another room until I can get it cleaned. Then I'll probably bounce him back and forth after awhile to keep his scenery changed up lol.

It's actually fairly light. About half the weight of Gizmo's current cage, which is a Kings Cage. (OMG That thing takes 3 people to move. It has to be several hundred pounds)

omg, all my cages are heavy as heck! caleb's was 257lbs, ollie's was 270 or so, and if i remember right, skittles' was 300+.

marley and twiggy's are fairly small, so they arent too bad.
