okay each morning i make breakfast for the fiddies. its the feather-person version of thanksgiving as far as prep time v/s eat time. i spend 30 mins mixing oatmeal, chopping fresh fruit, defrosting and mixing frozen veggies. make up a healthy and varied breakfast for the hungry parrots that are screaming in the livingroom. get the bowls, carry them into the room. everyone quickly gets on his or her breakfast perch. yup, they actually will sit on their 'seat' and wait their turn for breakfast. i always put bowls in the same order. Ollie first, then marley (who occasionally 'yells' at me if breakfast was late), then  twiggy (who always tries to nip me for touching her food door), then skittles, who is the only one who requires personalized seating. yup, skittles must be carried to his 'seat' and will not eat until i offer him one bite of oatmeal off my finger. (can you say SPOILED ROTTEN??) now we've added Caleb to the line. He seems to look at the bowl like "hmm, is that mine??" so then i have 5 quiet parrots eating. all i hear is the occasional grunt from skittles, idk he likes to grunt.  dknow  so after 30 mins of prep time, i get FIVE mins of quiet fids. FIVE MINS?? THAT'S IT???   slaph  then we hear bells as ollie feeds his bell, skittles punches his, and marley kills his. crazy fiddies.   loco6  but ya just gotta love 'em.  loveuk

dmblaf  Is it me or do they always seem to scream at you while getting food together because you are not going fast enough? dknow  The Ringnecks will actually ring their bell (sounds just like a dinner bell) while I am busting my ass to get their food together in a timely fashion  slaph

The clanging of something, Kito clucking and everything in between while trying to get breakfast going!
I always do everything in the same order and routine for the most part.
Chico gets to pick something good out of his bowl as Julio searches for something in the other bowl that I already put down,  Squigg gets a sip of water before I put his bowl down...if he is in the mood....Keets are usually good, Taj moves Mahal out of each bowl he tries to eat from...Tarzan will watch me intently and get impatient....babies are pretty patient...Kito gets handed a seed if he is in the correct spot he should be in while bowls and going in..he usually clucks for his thank you and I show Tupi her bowl before I put it in, don't know why but she usually likes to look into it loco6

skittles has gotten to where some mornings he insists on being on the kitchen perch and must have a half a grape as i'm making breakfast or he will scream the entire time.  slaph

:twirl:Guess I should feel lucky. My boys don't have a routine yet since they are still trying to figure me out & they are babies. Right now they are awake before me on days I'm not working, (I work nights & get in around 7:00 a.m.) but they just wait clinging to the front of the aviary for me to appear form my bedroom. Their aviary is on the other side of my bedroom wall, so I have to pass the door to get out of my room & they know it already. I talk to them & they mutter back something, I go into the kitchen area to fix their food & they wait on the wire for me to appear again. Sometimes a short squawk or mini scream is heard. My house is an open L shape & they can see me everywhere except in my bedroom, bathroom & kitchen area.

I know my time is coming when they decide I am not getting their food quick enough & I will be  pullhair pulling my hair out. But until then I am going to relish these "wonderfully" calm fids. Both boys like for me to hold a piece of fruit for them & they try to steal it from each other. They haven't developed any kind of special bowl or spot to eat fetish yet. So, thanks for warning me of what to look forward to!  dmblaf

Calm fiddies?!  That would be the day around here LOL

But if you never establish a routine Nakia, the better you will be!
