...for nuts. He loves his whole unshelled nuts. Each evening after dinner, he climbs across the top of his cage (upside down) and goes to his 'nut bowl' to get his evening nuts. Last nite was no different. But as he was going back to his landing pad, he must've lost his grip, cause he dropped one of his almonds in the bottom of the cage. So i went over and asked him, "are you okay?" and got his dropped almond and handed it to him. Now let me stop to tell you, i'm still wearing my work shirt at this point in the evening. its a dark blue button down shirt with a little pocket on the left side of the chest. your basic 'work' shirt.  So anyway, as i offer Skitttles his almond he takes it and immediately steps up on my arm. He then grabs hold of my pocket and holds it open so he can stick his head in it (still holding one of the almonds in his beak). Now my pocket is big enough for a notebook and an ink pen, but NOT big enough for a macaw head. So its a tight fit, to say the least. As i'm laughing at him and telling him "okay, now get outta my pocket before you rip my work shirt." he begins giggling and deposits the almond in my pocket, pulls his head out and yells "YAH!"  as if he's trying to startle me.  dknow  no idea what that was all about but when i tried to put my hand in my pocket to retrieve the almond, he yelled and grabbed my hand in his beak and pulled it away from the pocket. apparently it was supposed to be a 'safety deposit pocket'  lol

ya just gotta love these amazing creatures.  loveuk
