Ok, so I figured im not ready for an African Grey. I know i wont have the time for him...BUT! Ive been wanting a smaller bird. The bird fair is this weekend, and today, I adopted a little 3 yr old Lovebird, that I named Flicka! She is SO BEAUTIFUL! And semi-tame. I need to teach her to step up, but if i hold her, she cuddles, and likes being petted. She is a pied Lovie, they called her a "Blue Pied", but i dunno what she truly is. I dont care, she is beautiful and SO SWEET! Soooo, Meet FLICKA!









And dont worry, she is in quarantine. I will keep her there for a week or so.

awwwww, she is a cutie! i was worried that you may be biting off more than you could chew with desiel. i'm sorry it didnt work out, but i'm proud of you for making such a hard decision. i'm not sure i could turn down a grey if it was offered to me. (or a 'Too, for that matter)

Little Flicka is just absolutely beautiful. her colors are just so amazing.

btw, i named my kitten Black Beauty... what's up with horses round here??  dmblaf

No idea tozie! But the name fits her!

I knew from the get go i wasn't ready for a grey. But i wanted to TRY and give it a chance. I have been doing serious thinking about it and I dont want to take on more than I can handle. Now i think i can handle a cute widdle fluffy lovebird LOL! loveuk

Thanks everyone! She is a doll! To get her out of her cage, for now i have to grab her, but once i have her she is fine. STARTING to step up, so i think she does get the concept.  handshappy

It's funny, last night she went in my hoodie pocket to play/hide. When her widdle head popped out, my heart melted!  loveuk :pray:    I let todd hold her last night and the 1st words out of his mouth were "Damn she is SOFT!" then "AWWW! She is so little!" He is fallin for her too! i may have some competition!
 

She hasnt really vocalised yet, only once when she 1st heard Peanut. I will say this..she is a little PIGGY! So i think i have to limit her food just in case. She eats a seed/pellet mix, and I plan on switching to pellets soon, and seeds for treats like my other birds.

I am so glad I got her.
