She is getting better with the chewing. a LOT!
We are BOTH tired here LOL!

And dont worry, she landed in the grass safely at the end.

Dont worry guys, her feathers are ruffled cuz she is still getting used to the harness. Im not hurting her!  hmm She is doing GREAT! Today, on the way HOME from the park, she didnt fight or chew it at ALL!! i gave her a BUNCH of millet when we got home. She is getting used to it i think!  loveuk handshappy
She called out to a crow at one point...that or let me know he was there. I dunno for sure. Sounded like a warning call.

Nice job!

Keep her on your hand and watch her body language so you can pull her in when she shows fear. Being new to being outdoors she will be nervous of many things and by bringing her close to your body will help ease her nervousness. You want her to enjoy going out with you and anything you can do to make your out time more enjoyable will only increase her willingness to be outdoors.
Hawks, crows, and other birds of prey will dive bomb you in an attempt to snatch her off your shoulder or to make her fly so they can "get her". I still do all of this with our U2 and he's a large bird, yet the crows will fly with us at head level in an attempt to scare Powder and we have had Hawks and eagles drop to within 10 feet of us overhead. I'm extra cautious ever since Momma was attacked by a Red Tail Hawk.

I had people already ask me "why is she on a leash? Isnt that mean?" Im like "It would be MEANER to bring her out her flighted, and her fly away and get lost due to my stupidity!" DUH!!!
I tell them the harness is safe for her. That it keeps her from flying away, but at the same time, she CAN fly when she wants. Then they say "but her feathers are all messed up!" I just said "Yeah, she is in training. Just like a dog on a leash. She will get used to it."
Peanut likes going out. I can see it in here eyes. No one tells me that i am mistreating my bird, because i AM giving her a better quality of life doing this for her.

People are stupid. I agree, taking the time to get them used to going out and spending time outdoors safely is in their best interest. We make sure to take different routes when we walk because if the birds get out they can spot something that looks familiar and make their way back to the house. Powder has gotten out before and it did help that he knew where he was. Ever since Mommas attack when she was out I am anxious about them taking off when a door is opened, yet I don't want to take flight away from them in the house and I want them to enjoy being out.

EFF them and EFF their ignorance, she is a "domesticated" (pet) animal, yes there is wild in her but she knows only human care and she would be a goner if she were to fly on her own in CO!

why must people be loud and wrong?
