Many know that Baby our Lovebird is housed with his parents Tarzan & Jane and have always gotten along.  All have been together for about two years.  Surprising as they kicked out BP and Chance years ago.  His siblings BP and Chance are in the next cage next to theirs.  Just a little while ago Tarzan and Jane attacked poor baby.  Feathers were flying and there was a whole lot of squawkin. slaph  If I did not fly to the cage to scare them they would have killed baby.  He is fine.  The last few days Jane has been acting "nesty" so this does not surprise me.  Baby went to feed Momma and Tarzan and Jane reacted as if Baby was an intruder (I watched it happen).  We decided that Baby needed to come out and quickly.  Catching him was a doozy and he flew out.  I got him but man did he lay into me :deer:  He is in with his siblings (BP and Chance) now.  They have chatted with each other and have been next to each other for a long time so we hope it works out.  They seem good now and will be monitoring.  There is no more room for another cage so this better work out.  Our vet asked us if we knew anyone with a small parrot for a friend of hers and if worse comes to worse he may have to go to her.  I just worry if that were to happen as baby has always been with or around other Lovebirds.  One day at a time and we shall see how it goes.

So far so good-ish.  I have to sleep on the couch so if they squabbled last night I would have heard.  I have to do something or re-arrange for feeding bowls.  I put an extra bowl on the bottom of the cage and the regular, all I could do at the moment but at least there will be another spot for food away from the other bowl for now.
We have Taj and Mahal's old flight cage.  I think one of the bars is broken...but I am sure I could somehow remedy it.  Now if I could come up with a way to put in a divider and still have door and feeding access it would be perfect for the entire Lovie clan.  I will have to go look at the cage set up later and see if I could come up with a MacGuyver plan to reconstruct it!  thumb
Doc A did have a friend who was looking for a small fiddie.  I do hate to break them up but will do what is best.  Baby is the sweetest little thing!  He wants back in with mom and pop so badly and here they look at him wondering why he is away from them!  Crazy parents! :ugstpd:

See if you can use a piece of plexi glass as a divider. You will have the same problem with him in the cage with his siblings as you did with his parents. Hormone season is just starting.

The two siblings are not bonded.  They get along well.  Nothing anywhere near like Tarzan and Jane.  We could not divide the cage as it turned out to be less room for all of them.  With the three in the flight cage it is SO much bigger.  They are doing real well together and if down the road things get nasty we will have to go to plan B,C, or whatever.
