As many know Chico our GCC has real bad scissors beak. We and he got tired of having to go all the way to the vets for a trim once a month. After watching Chance trim a beak last Friday we decide to get a Dremmel and do it our selves. It went pretty darned good for the first time! AddEmoticons04239 Mar toweled him and I trimmed. I didn't get it as good as I would have like but it is pretty good. I will do it again in a week as I just wanted to get the feel for it the first time ;) Chico was a real trooper!!! He didn't squawk or fight once, unlike at the Vet's! Good to go!! :)

I was very surprised at how well he did...how well we all did! Granted we only did a little bit but he did not squirm at all. As D said we watched Chance and Jr. trim Peaches beak ( I believe it was Peaches the Too) so instead of getting the rug I thought I wanted but don't anymore we got the Dremel. It worked great and I am glad we will be able to do this and save us all a bit of stress.

He does! I was so afraid that after I did this it would push us a part a bit! Doesn't seemed to have affected our relationship thus far! AddEmoticons04239

Congrats! It must be nice to know that you can trim beaks yourself now, rather than having to drive to the vet. You can spend the saved $ on more bird toys that way! :D
