Pool Noodles! Now is the time to stock up on them, they are on sale!  Slice them into a size your bird can handle and stuff them with foot toys, nuts, grasses, etc. You can hang them  after they are sliced or use the slices as foot toys!!

Most birds don't try to eat them, just have to watch at first. I know lots of people who use them for birds, myself included. My GF has a zon and she cuts a 6 inch length and puts in slits which she shoves nuts and pellets into, then she stuffs the center with shredded paper, nuts, foot toys, pellets, etc and hangs the dang thing. She also cuts them into 2 inch "donuts" and stuffs the center and uses them as foot toys/ forage toys. Powder and Higgy love to shredd them! .............all those tiny little bits of foam floating all over..........sigh   slaph

confused  hmmm, now i was always afraid they were toxic... ya know chemicallly... is that a word??? anyway, ya get the point. we have some at the store on clearance... i'm thinking that would be a blast for the fiddies.

little bits of foam would just add to the "charm" of this place. i have toilet paper shreds everywhere, skittles has a roll on his totem pole and he peels one layer at a time and shreds it into TINY pieces.  slaph

Nope, not toxic, my guys have been playing with them for years and none of their bloodwork has indicated that they were toxic. A friend of mine is knowledgeable about stuff like toxicity and she uses them with her birds all the time too. They are non toxic for kids and animals.
