talk about your three... er..uh.. four... uh...six ring circus!  i come home from work dead tired. it was a busy day. my second day back. last nite i worked truck, worked late, got to bed a bit later than what i'm used to. this morning at 4 am i get a call from my sister... who is 37 wks pregnant... "hey sissy, just wanted to let you know, i'm at the hospital. i'm in labor. go back to sleep and call me when you get up for work." REALLY????  slaph  did she honestly think after that i could just zap back asleep??? so i spent the next 2 hours dozing in and out, got up, got ready, and went to work. she calls me back at 8:30, poor thing, her labor stalled. so she's back home waiting... anyway, i'm tired. dead tired. i come home and cook some tacos, cause besides being tired i'm STARVING. lol! finally settle down to rest. <sigh> marley begins giggling. thank goodness i looked up, cause i put my hand up in time to catch mr. giraffe, which is very hard plastic! i toss him back up, and marley grabs the handle, flapping madly, giggling like a loon, and slings it over the side of the cage. wow! he's loaded with energy. i toss it back up there, and he leaps on it, puts his beak under it, and pushes it over the front edge. well, momma's too tired to crawl under the cage tonite. so there mr. giraffe lays. after marley sits on the rail, looking first at me, then at mr. giraffe with that cute one-eyed stare fids have, he turns tail and leaps on his green monster. its much lighter and he tosses it halfway across the sofa! about this time darla comes running at me, turns and runs to the door, looks back at me like "are ya coming????" so i take her out to the yard, she's still a bit nervous about going out in the yard alone. as i stand out there, she does her business, and then pops up in the middle of some very tall grass, ears pricked up, mischief virtually leaking out her eye sockets! she comes at me at a full run, in my mind's eye i see me flying across the yard and landing on my rump! so i side step her, well this just eggs her on! she commences to run round me like a demon on crack! kicking up grass, dirt, sticks, and pine needles everywhere in her wake. fortunately the heat index is still triple digits so she wears out pretty quick and back in the house for a drink and some kibble.  i sit down, thank goodness, marley has stopped for a refreshing snack of blackberries and green beans. <sigh> skittles begins screaming.  slaph "what?" scream. "what do you want??" screeeeeeeeech!!!!!  "skittles! you're killing momma! what do you want???" he lifts one foot and screams at the top of his little birdie lungs. oh. he wants his turn. so i go to him, he steps up and begins flapping madly and playing chew momma's finger off. he flips over... a minute to describe this scene: i'm standing in the middle of the room, skittles leans back so his lower back is cradled in my right hand, his feet just kinda curled into little fists, one wing in, the other streched all the way out, he has my free hand in his beak and is trying to hide it under his wing so he can chew on my fingers without me noticing.... like i wouldnt notice???  anyway, between the flapping wing beating me to death, the killer beak gnawing on my poor digits, and the happy screaming, this little game doesnt last long! lol! he opens his feet, leans forward and in one smooth motion is on my wrist, leaning toward his cage. ugh. he wants to play with his bottle. i pretend to not notice. i really dont wanna play that game. so he stops leaning, looks me in the eye and says "UH OH!!!" well, that got me. ya see, that is his name for the bottle game. he throws it down and yells "uh oh!" each time. well, when they ask for the game by name... ya gotta comply. so he and i toss the bottle a few times. then it becomes a rousing game of... well, its kinda like soccer. he's the goalie, the door to his landing pad is the goal. he stands tall in the middle of the pad, wings slightly out, weaving back and forth, beak open, and grunting. this means "go ahead! i'm ready! throw it!" so i try to toss it into the opening, he bumps it with his beak. no goal. i toss it along the side, he dives and grabs it by the neck, shakes the tar outta it, tosses it back. we play "soccer" for a good 5 mins til skittles notices he has some grapes in his bowl. suddenly its snack time. marley is snacking, darla is chewing a bone, ollie is picking his toes, twiggy is preening her tail, and rocky is hiding in my bedroom. <sigh> rest time, maybe pop into BP to see what's happening. as i typed this, marley finished his snack. threw his green monster at me. i tossed it back. i guess i wasnt giving him enough of my attention. he leaped off his cage, grabbed my hair and slid down to my shoulder. grabbed my shirt in both feet and began leaning toward the cage flapping like a mad man.... i think he was trying to drag me to his cage.   confused  yes, its a six ring circus, but its MY circus and i love it.  loveuk
