Title: Niagara SPCA
Post by: Yogi on May 28, 2011, 12:04:33 pm
My son sent me an email copied from the Niagara SPCA site. It stated 12 birds had been confiscated from a filthy hoarder situation. Despite this the birds seemed to be in good health and were to be examined and put up for adoption on SaturdayMay 28. When I called they said most of the birds were cockatoos.. So as the traffic can be pretty thick in this area and I hate to drive ,I called before I went. The birds were already adopted. I was wondering if anyone here got any of the birds?

Nobody here to my knowledge got any of those birds.  I am very glad they found good homes already and are not in the bad situation they were in   Was the hoarder in the Buffalo/Niagara area?  Thanks for this information :thumb:

The info is off the site but yes it was the Niagara area as the Niagara SPCA area covers Niagara county which covers the falls ,N.Tonawanda and Lockport amongst other towns and cities. I wasn't interested in any of the toos but possibly any smaller birds.I knew they would be gone very fast. I have no idea who got them. My DIL took in a tiel that landed in their yard. They kept it  while trying to locate the owners . It was very sweet. It was gone before she walked out of the Spca.  One of the workers took it.

I never even heard of anything.  Wouldn't mind a pink Too though!  Not long ago I know the SPCA (Ton.) had 2 Tiels That went to homes very quickly.  I had found a potential adopter..adopteree...and they were gone!  Hope they went to safe loving homes and don't end up on CL!

So, I am confused. The birds where taken from the rescue by the spca or from a different person?

The "woman/hoarder" was not a member of this forum.  She was a member of the main buffalo.com website which really served no purpose and has not been in function for quite a while.  We never were in contact with this member.  What does baffle me?  This topic was brought up almost two weeks ago by Yogi who is a good member and now all of a sudden a new member without introducing herself goes into detail of the SPCA, Second Chance Bird Rescue and the hoarder of this whole situation which none of us really knew about in the first place.  Hmm, just confusing.

I removed the posts as not to be confusing I commented on this because I know what happened and the story about the birds being in good health was false. I had not gotten around to my introduction yet. But being this seems to have have upset you I will remove myself from the forum. Hope you all have a good one.

Nobody was upset.  Thing is the rescue you speak of and here had some major "issues" about a year ago and we want no more trouble is all.  We do not know anything of this situation and this topic has been dead for a while till now.  Thats it.  My explanation.
