Hello!  Well I haven't been on here in years but have some unfortunate news.  Tupi our Pacific Parrotlet who is the second parrort we have
in our flock was just diagnosed with a malignant round cell tumor.   :cry1:  It is on top of her left wing.  The crazy thing is it was never discovered earlier...it must have been hidden under her feathers.  Being her small size and just in general surgery is very risky.  We do not want her to suffer and she does not appear to be in any pain right now.  She is getting around and eating well.  She also is on antibiotics
for precautionary measures for infection....but she has not been picking at it.  We are just giving her all the love we can and keeping her happy and comfortable.  Nothing that I am aware of could have prevented this and even if it was discovered sooner we are not choosing surgery either way.  It could just be from genetics or her mutation.  So right now she is ok and mostly her normal self.  Her pic is the first fid on the BP logo~  Again we will just love her as much as we can and keep her comfy and spoil her as usual.  <3 BP Mar

Very very sorry for sweet widdle Tupi for having to go through this!  :sad8: She is a trooper to be in good spirits, but I know that is also because of all the love her Mom & Dad have showered her with her entire life.  :hugu: :loveuk:

Tupi darling you kick that tumor thingy in the butt and send it to another universe or some place far away from you!!!  :ys: You are still a gorgeous beauty Tupi even with your little boo-boo.  :heart:

Sorry to hear of Tupi, not good news but that tumor looks quite large, could it not be cut off and cauterised under a light sedation? Poor birdy, as long as she is comfortable, bless her 💗

Because the tumor is malignant (cancerous) we are not opting for surgery...even if it was not cancer we would not do surgery.  It is very
risky to begin with and being so small even more dangerous.  We do not want to put her through that and I don't know if any other treatments
would be needed...chemo or radiation, amputation etc, and we just can't do that to her.  So this is like a Hospice situation.  She is comfortable and getting around fine.....yelling at Kito when he plays with his bell toys which she hates!  So we will cherish our time with her and not
let her suffer at any time.  She has not been picking at her "boo-boo" and hope it stays that way.  When they did the aspiration of the tumor she did not even peep....so hoping it won't cause her any pain and so far is staying the same size.  Yes "Nakia" she will stay spoiled and she still has her pitbull attitude! <3

Well Tupi is holding her own...the tumor has grown but she is still doing much of what she normally does.  She eats and drinks fine and yells at the others and of course loves her scritches!  Thank you all for the thoughts~~~

Tupi gained her healthy wings and crossed to the Rainbow Bridge last night.   :cry1:  I know she is at peace now and with her brothers and sisters.  Her and our Kito are what helped D to start this forum and journey.  RIP our little pitbull Tupster!!! <3

Oh so sorry to hear this BPMar, and I totally understand why you did not want to put her through any ops and treatment. May little Tupi sleep peacefully now and be with her friends at the bridge  :hugu:
