Title: A little foster birdie
Post by: Mandi on June 30, 2014, 02:12:07 pm
His owner no longer wanted him, says her heart isn't in it and he does their head in
He won't be 2 till September :(
A little skittish at mo but he steps up every time without a bite
Prefers woman too :)
Meet Alfie
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/01/uryqujyh.jpg)
Iv had him since Monday last wk
This  morning he had a shower in the human bath, his nails trimmed and iv sent DNA off to sex him
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/01/nu9ahy7a.jpg)
He gets around a little slower than other birds as his legs were broken either in the nest or with the breeder
It was only noticed a couple days after his owner got him home
One healed pretty straight the other not so much , it looks like he has a elbow off to the side of his ankle :(
A avian vet said If it doesn't hinder his mobility then he advises to leave his legs as they are as 1 he may not be able to straighten them successfully and 2 he may not come out the other side :(
He does have a home lined up and hopefully will be joining them within the next wk x x

He's beautiful, Mandi. Good for you in taking him in when he needed it. And finding him a forever home.

I'm so pleased he has now found a good home with you!

That's okay, tapatalk just seems to post twice and they cannot give me an explanation for it  :2sadk:

Such an adorable sweet fabie!! Too bad his/her family didn't feel it was good to keep him any longer. But at least they cared enough to find Alfie someone who wanted to help him go to a forever home!!

Hope you can get updates as to how Alfie is doing at his new home. I'd love to know from time to time.
